Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (5/23/2024) – "What a spectacular spring season we had. We saw all of our teams make postseason play, we dedicated two amazing new facilities, and hosted the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Track and Field Championships," said Gwynedd Mercy University Director of Athletics Keith Mondillo. "I am also pleased to report that our student-athletes continued to impress in the classroom as we congratulate the 130 student-athletes who earned recognition on the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite." He continued, "Overall, our student-athlete body produced 41 4.0's and combined for a 3.30 departmental GPA. I want to thank our coaches, staff, and advisors for all the work they do to keep our student-athletes on task!"  
 
Established in the fall of 2021, the Gwynedd Mercy University Academic Elite award honors student-athletes who earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the given semester. For the 2024 spring semester, the Griffins combined to earn a 3.30 GPA with 41 student-athletes posting individual 4.0's and 130 student-athletes garnering recognition as Gwynedd Mercy University Academic Elite.
 
The top male team GPA was recorded by the men's soccer team, who combined for a 3.39 GPA. Meanwhile, the top female team GPA was the women's lacrosse team who combined for a GPA of 3.67. With 17 members earning recognition, the baseball team placed the most student-athletes on the Athletic Academic Elite. 14 of the University's 17 intercollegiate athletic programs achieved a GPA of 3.0 or better this fall.
