Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (10/9/2023) – Scheduled for Tuesday, October 17 through Thursday, October 19, the
National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign encourages the student-athletes to help foster inclusive environments within intercollegiate athletics. This year, the Gwynedd Mercy University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is pleased to take part in the National social media campaign with a series of informative and interactive content that focuses on raising diversity and inclusion awareness on our campus.
Presented by the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee and National SAAC, the sixth annual Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign is an excellent opportunity for student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and the collegiate athletic community across the country to use their social media platforms to create dialogue surrounding diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Oct. 17-19, 2023
DAY 1 (Tuesday, Oct. 17) – "Understanding the Why": Why do I support others who have different identities and experiences? – Keep an eye out for some informative social media graphics that illustrate diversity and inclusion statistics for intercollegiate athletics and our campus.
DAY 2 (Wednesday, Oct. 18) – "I Belong Because…": Defining why belonging is important to foster inclusive excellence within a team or an athletic community. – Gwynedd Mercy University SAAC President Joshua Kolasa and Athletic Communications Intern Reece Salas will ask student-athletes around campus to finish the statement of identity.
DAY 3 (Thursday, Oct. 19) – "A Shared Responsibility": Sharing institutional and individual responsibilities and action steps for fostering belonging and inclusive excellence. – Gwynedd Mercy University SAAC will be hosting a Campus Roundtable that will discuss how creating a diverse and inclusion campus community is a shared responsibility.
