Eight-Point Effort Lands Bradley on AEC Women’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) had her first breakout performance in the Red and Gold as he four-goal (2:35, 18:52, 33:38, 47:07) effort earned the Griffins a 4-2 win at Albright College (Sept. 27) and garnered herself a spot on the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll. A prolific goal-scorer Bradley during her time with Bryn Athyn College, Saturday’s performance was Bradley’s first multi-point game with Gwynedd Mercy University.
Bradley was joined on the Weekly Report by Marywood University senior midfielder Carly Walters (Springfield, Pa.) and sophomore defender Faith Meals (Fleetwood, Pa.), who respectively won the AEC Women’s Soccer Player and Defensive Player of the Week awards.
Bradley wasted little time making her presence felt in Saturday’s triumph as she gave Gwynedd Mercy University (5-4-1) a 1-0 lead just 2:35 into the contest. After an Albright College equalizer (1-1, 9:23), Bradley returned the Griffins to the advantage and provided insurance she finished a long lead pass from junior midfielder
Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.) in the 19
th minute (2-1, 18:52) and used an individual effort in the 34
th minute (3-1, 33:38) to give Gwynedd Mercy University a 3-1 lead for intermission. Bradley added her fourth goal early in the second half; 4-1 (47:07), giving the Red and Gold plenty of breathing room for the final 42 minutes of competition.
Bradley’s six shots accounted for half of Gwynedd Mercy University’s total (12). She put five of those shots on-goal.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Wednesday, October 1, as the team returns to the Athletic Complex to take on Penn State Schuylkill for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
