Flamma Catches Fire For AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll Mention
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/25/2024) – Gwynedd Mercy University senior attack
Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) was named to the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in his collegiate career after recording career-highs in goals (6) and points (8) in the Griffins’ 20-4 win at Bryn Athyn College (Mar. 23). Flamma recorded one of his tallies on the man-up (3-0, 8:36 1QTR) and finished the affair with three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
The AEC Player of the Week title went to Cabrini University sophomore attack Connor Herraiz (Succasunna, N.J.), while Immaculata University sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow (Willow Grove, Pa.) was named the AEC Defensive Player of the Week. Flamma was joined on the AEC Weekly Honor Roll by Cabrini University junior faceoff Josh McCormick (Springfield, Pa.) and Centenary University (N.J.) senior attack Brandon Verderber (Parsippany, N.J.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (3-6) traveled to Bryn Athyn looking for their third straight win. Despite the downpour, the Red and Gold had no problem finding the back of the cage in a 20-4 victory over the Lions. The Griffins dominated the box score, outshooting Bryn Athyn 52-10; they were 3-for-3 (1.000) on the man-up and won 18-of-26 (.692) faceoffs from the Lions. Flamma only needed nine shots to score his six goals.
Gwynedd Mercy University opens their AEC schedule on Wednesday, April 3, when they host Cabrini University for a 4:00 p.m. affair.
