Game-Winner versus Cyclones Claims O’Donnell the AEC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week Award

Luke O’Donnell (Glenside, Pa.) netted the game-winner in the Griffins’ 3-2 regular season finale victory at Centenary University (N.J.), landing the Red and Gold the #5 seed in the 2025 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament and earning himself the
AEC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week award. This is the third AEC Men’s Soccer Weekly Report appearance of O’Donnell’s collegiate career and it’s his first this season.
O’Donnell was joined on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Soccer Weekly Report by the AEC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, Immaculata University freshman goalkeeper Luca Greppellini (Newbury, England), as well as the members of the Weekly Honor Roll; Neumann University junior defenseman Victor John (Stratford, N.J.), Saint Elizabeth University freshman forward/midfielder Derek Campoverde (Elizabeth, N.J.) and Jonathan Ramirez Delgado (Wharton, N.J.).
Needing a victory to cement their spot in the 2025 AEC Men’s Soccer Championship Tournament, Gwynedd Mercy University (9-10, 3-4) received heroics across the roster in a 3-2 triumph at Centenary University (N.J. (3-11-3, 0-4-3) (Oct. 29). Junior forward
Devario Gboho (Philadelphia, Pa.) (1-1, 31:53) evened the spread in the first half, but the Griffins needed another game-tying goal from freshman forward
Jackson Stuetz (Willow Grove, Pa.) (2-2, 80:39), before O'Donnell (3-2, 86:47) pushed the Griffins ahead for their second straight conference win and postseason birth. The Red and Gold’s continued pressure took effect in the second half as senior forward
Braedon Kehan (Warrington, Pa.) found Stuetz in the 81
st minute and Gboho found O’Donnell in the 87
th minute. O’Donnell finished the contest with three shots.
Following their 2-1 AEC First Round win over #4 Saint Elizabeth University, #5 Gwynedd Mercy University visits #1 Neumann University for a 7:00 p.m. semifinal on Tuesday, November 4.
