Roberto Makes Third AEC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll

Andrew Roberto (Churchville, Pa.) earned his third
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll recognition of the season after recording 11 saves to keep the Griffins in a tight league contest versus Neumann University (Oct. 18).
Roberto was joined on the AEC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honor Roll by Marymount University sophomore forward Jefferson Lopez Coreas (Woodbridge, Va.) and Marywood University junior defenseman/midfielder Drew Smith (Archbald, Pa.). Marywood University sophomore midfielder/forward Donnie Powell (Glen Burnie, Md.) was recognized as the AEC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week while Saint Elizabeth University sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Gonzalez (Elizabeth, N.J.) was named the AEC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Gwynedd Mercy University hosted AEC rival, Neumann University for Saturday afternoon’s Senior Day contest. The Red and Gold opened the day with honoring their senior players as Roberto was recognized alongside midfielder

Joe Romano (Blue Bell, Pa.). Though Neumann dominated time of possession throughout the first half, Gwynedd Mercy's defense was able to keep the affair scoreless to intermission. Unfortunately, the Knight attack finally broke Gwynedd Mercy University backline in the second half as a 36-5 shot discrepancy eventually took its toll.
Gwynedd Mercy University hosts their final home game of the season on Wednesday, October 22, as they welcome Marywood University to the Athletic Complex for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff.
