Etter Earns Fourth AEC Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
 
Lancaster, Pa. – (11/3/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior outside hitter Kate Etter (Chambersburg, Pa.) earned her fourth Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll recognition of the season with her performances in recent contests with league rivals, Marymount University (L, 1-3; 19-25, 25-20, 17-25, 22-25 on Oct. 29) and Saint Elizabeth University (W, 3-1; 25-21, 26-24, 12-25, 25-15 on Nov. 1). Etter finished the 1-1 week of league play with 26 kills, three aces, three block assists, and 29 digs.
 
Etter was joined on the on the AEC Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honor Roll by Neumann University sophomore outside hitter Melissa Eddy (Dover, Del.), Marywood University freshman setter Ayla Bransford (Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Saint Elizbeth University sophomore defensive specialist Alyssa Wells (Castle Rock, Colo.). The AEC Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week honor went to Marywood University junior middle blocker Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa.), while the AEC Women’s Volleyball Specialist of the Week honors went to Neumann University sophomore setter Kyla Carney (Morton, Pa.).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University (6-15, 1-4) marked the first set lost to an AEC foe for Marymount University (12-15, 5-0) with an 25-20 victory in the second set of Wednesday night’s match with the Saints. Unfortunately, the Saints saw to it that they stayed atop the league standings with succeeding wins of 25-17 and 25-22. Senior middle hitter Charlotte Pugh (Philadelphia, Pa.) (11 kills) and Etter (10) both recorded 12.0 points with double-digit kills while senior setter Ayanna Gaston (Middletown, Del.) directed the Red and Gold with two kills, 23 assists, four aces, two block assists, and six digs. Etter finished the match with 10 kills, an ace, two block assists, and 11 digs.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University picked up their first AEC win of the season with Saturday's victory at Saint Elizabeth University (9-16, 2-4), thanks large in-part to the effort of Etter (18.5 points) and Pugh (13.0). Both recorded double-doubles; the former paired 16 kills with 18 digs, while the latter totaled 13 kills and 16 digs. Their performances were fueled by Gaston, who contributed two kills, 32 assists, four aces, and two digs to the triumph. Etter totaled her 16 kills on a .300 (16K-4E-40TA) hitting percentage; with two aces and a block assist, she totaled 18.5 points in the match.

Gwynedd Mercy University continues their AEC schedule on Wednesday, November 5, when they visit Pratt Institute for a 7:00 p.m. match.
