Bark Goals Bring Home AEC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Award
Lancaster, Pa. – (9/22/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University freshman forward Drew Bark (Philadelphia, Pa.) took five shots and scored four goals this week as a hat trick in the Griffins’ 4-0 win at Cedar Crest College (Sept. 17) and another tally in a 2-1 victory versus Cairn University (Sept. 20) garnered her the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Soccer Player of the Week award.
Bark was joined on the Weekly Report by the AEC Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, Saint Elizabeth University sophomore goalkeeper Elizabeth Giamboy (Vineland, N.J.) as well as Honor Roll mentions; Centenary University (N.J.) senior forward Liliana Flores (Dover, N.J.), Marywood University graduate defender Britlyn Higgins (Fort Worth, Texas), and her teammate, sophomore forward Alyssa Trujillo (Morrison, Colo.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (4-4) put together a dominant performance in Wednesday night’s 4-0 victory at Cedar Crest College (1-5). The Griffins wasted little time taking control as Bark scored in the eighth minute (1-0, 8:51) off an assist from freshman defender Addyson Sparks (Philadelphia, Pa.). Just three minutes later (2-0, 12:29), Bark struck again, doubling the Red and Gold advantage with her second goal of the season. A third Griffin goal (3-0, 35:10) only intensified the momentum before Bark put the exclamation point on the afternoon with her third tally; 4-0 (53:59).
A few days later, Gwynedd Mercy University welcomed Cairn University to the Athletic Complex for an afternoon contest. The Griffins came out firing, out-shooting the Highlanders 13-1 in the opening half. Their relentless pressure paid off in the 18th minute when Bark finished off a crisp assist from senior forward Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.); 1-0 (18:29). Bradley continued to make her presence felt, this time finding the back of the net herself in the 43rd minute (2-0, 43:16) off a setup from senior forward Natalie Morris (Boyertown, Pa.) to give Gwynedd Mercy a commanding 2-0 lead before halftime. Cairn University cut the deficit in half during the 58th minute (2-1, 57:18), but the Red and Gold held on for the eventual 2-1 victory.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Wednesday, September 24, when they host Penn State Berks for a 6:00 p.m. Morgan's Message game.
