Cruz Named AEC Track Athlete of the Week, Scheitrum and O’Neill Weekly Honor Roll Recognition
Lancaster, Pa. – (4/1/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University graduate Natalie O’Neill (Philadelphia, Pa.), freshman
Tyson Scheitrum (Harrisburg, Pa.), and senior
Victor Cruz (New Castle, Del.) and were respectively recognized on this week’s
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s and Men’s Track and Field Reports for their performances at Stockton University’s Osprey Open. Cruz was recognized as the AEC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week, while Scheitrum and O’Neill garnered Weekly Honor Roll recognition.
The AEC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week went to Pratt Institute sophomore Kaeden Green (Brunswick, Maine), while the AEC Women’s Track Athlete of the Week was presented to Marymount University senior Deziree Conklin-Boone (Virginia Beach, Va.). O’Neill was joined on the AEC Women’s Track and Field Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University sophomore Aubrey Donahue (Sewell, N.J.), Marywood University senior Lany Straub (Shickshinny, Pa.), Pratt Institute senior Kayla Galvan (San Antonio, Texas), and Marymount University sophomore Isabella Rivera (Leesburg, Va.).
Opposite Cruz, the AEC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week went to Marymount University junior Samuel Struggs (Sugar Land, Texas). Scheitrum was joined on the AEC Men’s Track and Field Weekly Honor Roll by Marymount University sophomore Reuben McEachern (Richmond, Va.), Immaculata University senior Dylan Crews (Philadelphia, Pa.), Marywood University sophomore Raiden Francis (Jersey Shore, Pa.), and Pratt Institute freshman Justin Cai (Surrey, Canada).
The Griffins' enjoyed a record Hammer (37.70) from Scheitrum and a first-place finish in the 400-Meter (1st, 49.11) from Cruz. The former also placed sixth in the Discus (6
th, 37.70) with the same distance, while the latter also placed second in the 200-Meter (2nd, 22.04). O’Neill placed first in the Long Jump (1st, 4.74) and joined her teammates; sophomore
Brigid McCluskey (Philadelphia, Pa.), freshman
Ava Ezzie (Drexel Hill, Pa.), and freshman
Fanta Dukuly (Philadelphia, Pa.) for a second-place finish in the 4x100-Meter Relay (2nd, 54.06).
