Eagan Titled AEC Player of the Week, Eisenhart Earns Honor Roll Mention

Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) garnered the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week title with her role in the Griffins’ recent 59-56 win over King’s College (Pa.), while junior forward
Erin Eisenhart (Bethlehem, Pa.) earned mention on the Weekly Honor Roll. Eagan scored a game-high 17 points, while recording eight rebounds, an assist, and a steal against the Monarchs. Eisenhart headlined the Red and Gold defense in the victory with five steals; she also grabbed seven rebounds and scored seven points.
Opposite Eagan, Immaculata University senior guard Tessa Liberatoscioli (Malvern, Pa.) was named the AEC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week. Eisenhart was joined on the Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University senior guard Reese Mullins (Hockessin, Del.), Marymount University senior guard Samantha Bulik (York, Pa.) and freshman guard Kaylah Barr (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Neumann University senior forward Emily DuPont (Malvern, Pa.) and senior forward Lauren Klieber (Malvern, Pa.), and Marywood University senior guard Olivia Ciullo (Old Forge, Pa.).
Eagan scored the Red and Gold’s first basket against King’s College from behind the arch; 3-2 (6:12). She finished the first half with eight points and the game with 17 points; the Griffin captain hit 5-of-11 (.455) from the floor – including three three-point baskets (3-of-6, .500) – and all four of her free throws (4-of-4, 1.000). Eisenhart helped Gwynedd Mercy University outrebound the Monarchs with her seven boards and fronted the defense with her five steals. The result was 14 second-chance points, 10 points off turnovers, and a three-point victory.
Gwynedd Mercy University is back in action Tuesday, November 26, when they travel to Swarthmore College for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off.
