Seaman Scores AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll Mention

Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) was recognized on the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll after totaling five points (4 goals, 1 assist), two ground balls, and a caused turnover in the Griffins’ 18-9 loss at Widener University (Mar. 6). The AEC Player and Defensive Player of the Week titles respectively went to Cabrini University sophomore attack Connor Herraiz (Succasunna, N.J.) and junior midfielder Peter Hewitt (Berwyn, Pa.). Meanwhile, Seaman was joined on the Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University sophomore goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow (Willow Grove, Pa.) and Marymount University junior attack Bryan MaGuire (Phoenixville, Pa.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (0-5) scored the first three goals of the contest (14:13, 12:17, 12:08), but consistency served Widener University (1-4) well as five goals in each of the first three quarters propelled the Pride to an 18-9 final. The Red and Gold out shot Widener University 11-10 in the first quarter. They also won 11-of-20 (.550) face-offs, were successful on 18-of-28 (.643) clears, and recovered 31 ground balls.
Seaman scored three goals (14:13, 12:08, 7:00) in the Griffins' opening 6-2 run; he finished the quarter with an assist on a goal (6-2, 5:54) by senior attack
Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) and finished the game with a team-high five points with a fourth goal in the third quarter (7-11, 12:27). He scored the Red and Gold's only man-up goal (1-of-5, .200) with his first tally (1-0, 14:13). In addition to his points, Seaman recovered two ground balls and caused a turnover.
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their schedule on Monday, March 11, when they host Saint Joseph's College of Maine for a 3:00 p.m. Danica Strong Foundation Game.
