Christina Smith has been selected the Gwynedd Mercy Player of the Week for the week ending September 6th. She was the top finisher for the Griffins in the women's cross country race at the CSAC Preview Meet on Saturday, placing second overall. Smith, who also was named to the CSAC Women's Cross Country Honor Roll on Tuesday, paced nearly almost seven minutes a mile, as she clocked in a time of 21:42.

This is a first in a series of new honors we will recognize our student-athletes. Due to the Labor Day holiday, we'll announce the Gwynedd Mercy Player of the Week on Tuesdays throughout this season.
