Harrisburg, Pa. - (4/6/2026) - Gwynedd Mercy University (7-14) got back into the swing of things with an afternoon doubleheader at Penn State Harrisburg (12-6). Macey Harrold (West Deptford, N.J.) doubled three Griffins home in the fifth inning (12-3) of game two.
Griffin Highlights - Game One
- Gwynedd Mercy University scored two runs in their first at-bat of the afternoon. Junior first baseman Kassidy Kehoe (Lansdale, Pa.) led off with a walk and she scored (1-0) on a two-out single down the right field line from junior third baseman Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa.). After a wild pitch, junior catcher Maya Hellyer (Quakertown, Pa.) singled to right field to give the Griffins an early 2-0 lead.
- The Red and Gold looked to rally with three runs in the fourth inning. Hellyer led off with a single to left field, freshman pinch hitter Ashlyn Merz (Bensalem, Pa.) drew a one-out walk, and Miller did the rest with a smash her three-run smash (13-5).
- Hellyer finished 3-for-3 as she also singled in the fifth inning.
Griffin Highlights - Game Two
- The Red and Gold faced a 12-0 deficit heading to the fifth inning. There, freshman center fielder Nya Brown (Whitehall, Pa.) led off with a walk, freshman left fielder Lexie Kurth (Baldwin, Md.) singled to the pitcher with one out, and Kehoe drew a two-out walk before a Harrold double cleared the bases; 12-3.
- Harrold was 2-for-3. She also led off the fourth inning with a single to right field.
Gwynedd Mercy University continues a busy week on Wednesday, April 8, when they visit Neumann University for a pair of Atlantic East Conference (AEC) contests. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Â
