O’Toole Wins Warrant Mention on AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll

AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll (3/30/2026): Rylie O'Toole
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/30/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University freshman pitcher Rylie O'Toole (Southampton, Pa.) was recognized on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Softball Weekly Honor Roll after earning her first two wins of her collegiate career against Albright College (W, 10-8 on Mar. 25) and Centenary University (N.J.) (W, 5-1 on Mar. 27). O'Toole totaled 10.1 innings of work over two appearances; she was rewarded with her first win after recording the final 10 outs of a 10-8 game-one win over the Lions and she earned her second with a brilliant complete-game effort in the Griffins' 5-1 game-two win over the Cyclones.

The AEC Softball Player of the Week award went to sophomore utility Alexis Andrada (Maple Shade, N.J.), while the AEC Softball Pitcher of the Week went to Marymount University senior pitcher/outfielder Bailey Demusz (Doylestown, Pa.). O'Toole was joined on the AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll by Marymount University senior utility Kaylee Atkins (Chesapeake, Va.), Marywood University senior outfielder Riley Marshall (Littleton, Colo.), Neumann University freshman pitcher/utility Rebecca DiLeo (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Saint Elizabeth University junior infielder Josilynn Garcia (Northridge, Calif.).

Junior third baseman Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa.) and senior shortstop Hannah Smith (Levittown, Pa.) both recorded the 100th hit of their collegiate career, but there were also wins to celebrate as Gwynedd Mercy University (6-11, 1-3) held off a rally from Albright College (7-9) to win game one; 10-8, and used one of their own to steal game two; 4-3, before darkness set in. O'Toole earned her first collegiate win (1-3) in the first game with 3.1 innings of quality relief; she struck out two while allowing two runs on six hits and a walk.

After losing game one by a 7-3 margin, Gwynedd Mercy University secured a split of Friday's AEC doubleheader behind a brilliant game-two performance O'Toole. She earned her second win (2-3) of the week, and season, by holding Centenary University (N.J.) (3-13, 1-1) to an unearned run on two hits. Meanwhile, a fourth-inning sacrifice fly from junior designated player Jess Kepner (Pipersville, Pa.) (1-0) and four fifth-inning runs provided the offense needed for a 5-1 victory. Junior first baseman Kassidy Kehoe (Lansdale, Pa.) (3-for-7) and junior third baseman Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa.) (3-for-6) both recorded multiple hits in the opener, and they were also two of five Griffins to record a hit in game two.

Gwynedd Mercy University breaks from their AEC schedule to visit Penn State Schuylkill for a 3:00 p.m. doubleheader on Tuesday, March 31.
