Devine Repeats on AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll

AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll (3/30/2026): Josh Devine
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/30/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University senior midfielder Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) earned his second straight appearance on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll with five goals, 16 shots, five ground balls, and a caused turnover in the Red and Gold's 1-1 week versus Alvernia University (L, 10-11 (2OT) on Mar. 25) and league-rival Marywood University (W, 8-3 on Mar. 28). He scored four of his five goals the win over the Pacers, after helping the Griffins against the Golden Wolves with a goal, four ground balls, and a caused turnover.

The AEC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week title went to Immaculata University sophomore attack Jason Smaron (Philadelphia, Pa.), while the AEC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week title went to Marymount University freshman goalkeeper Connor Howard (North Wales, Pa.). Devine was joined on the AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll by Marymount University junior attack Santino Rossitto (Dix Hills, N.Y.), Immaculata University senior goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow (Willow Grove, Pa.), and Marywood University sophomore face-off/midfielder Luke Ament (Nazareth, Pa.).

Gwynedd Mercy University (6-4, 1-0) took a 2-1 lead in the first quarter, 4-3 at halftime, and 8-6 at the end of the third quarter, but it was Alvernia University (6-3) who scored five of the last six scores in an 11-10 overtime decision. Senior attack/midfielder Nick Citrigno (Southampton, Pa.) (2 goals, 2 assists) and sophomore attack/midfielder Landen Ciran (Ephrata, Pa.) (4 goals) recorded four points apiece to lead the Griffin offense. Meanwhile, senior defenseman Dylan Gazda (Pottstown, Pa.) (5 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers) and senior face-off Jake Tedeschi (Goshen, N.Y.) (8 ground balls, 1 caused turnovers, 16-of-22 (.727) face-offs) headlined the Red and Gold's defensive efforts in front of sophomore goalkeeper Alexander Guardino (Lumberton, N.J.) (9 saves). Devine's score gave the Griffins an 8-4 lead with a man-up goal at 7:26 in the third quarter.

Gwynedd Mercy University fed off a controlling defensive performance as the Red and Gold won 13-of-15 (.867) face-offs thanks to senior face-off specialist Jake Tedeschi (Goshen, N.Y.) and forced several shot-clock turnovers thanks to the suffocating defense in Saturday's 8-3 AEC victory over Marywood University (5-7, 0-1). Devine delivered half of the Griffins' goals with two unassisted tallies (5:22 1QTR, 11:13 3QTR) and assisted scores from sophomore attack David Crespo (Furlong, Pa.) (5:57, 2QTR) and sophomore midfielder/attack Ethan Galvan (Brick, N.J.) (10:03, 3QTR). Senior short stick defensive midfielder Zac Womer (Gilbertsville, Pa.) and freshman Caleb Gaines (Brookhaven, Pa.) headlined Red and Gold defense in front of sophomore goalie Alexander Guardino (Lumberton, N.J.). Devine's team-high 11 shots piled up in the second half, leading to goals with 11:13 (6-1) and 10:03 (7-1) remaining in the third quarter.

Gwynedd Mercy University continues their conference schedule on Saturday April 11, when they visit Immaculata University for a 4:00 p.m. AEC contest.
