FRESHMAN (2026) – An All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) First Team performer, Gaines (14gp-14gs) was named the 2026 AEC Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year. His impact on the Gwynedd Mercy University backfield and their opponents’ ability to create offense with an impressive he tied for second in the league in caused turnovers (T2^nd, 27) and sixth in ground balls (6^th, 65), while scoring three goals (3 points) on six shots. Gaines earned AEC Weekly Honor Roll recognition on March 9 after recording 11 ground balls, eight caused turnovers, and his first collegiate goal (1-0; 7:18, 1QTR vs. FDU-Florham) in a 1-1 week opposite Widener University (L, 8-14 on Mar. 4) and Farleigh Dickinson University (FDU) – Florham (W, 8-6 on Mar. 7).
