2026 CSC NCAA DIII Men's At-Large Academic All-District Team: Liam Burns (MLAX), Landen Ciran (MLAX), Josh Devine (MLAX), Ethan Galvan (MLAX), Alexander Guardino (MLAX), Jake Tedeschi (MLAX)
Greenwood, Ind. – (6/16/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University sophomores; defenseman Liam Burns (Philadelphia, Pa.), midfielder Landen Ciran (Ephrata, Pa.), attack/midfielder Ethan Galvan (Brick, N.J.), and goalkeeper Alexander Guardino (Lumberton, N.J.) were recognized alongside seniors, attack Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) and face-off Jake Tedeschi (Goshen, N.Y.) as some of the Nation's top student-athletes with their selection to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Men's At-Large Academic All-District Team (.PDF). The CSC Academic All-District teams recognize the Nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and maintained at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) while competing in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's contests.
 
A transfer from Bryn Athyn College, Burns (13 games played – 0 games started) was a regular reserve in the Gwynedd Mercy University backfield with 13 appearances off the bench. He recovered four ground balls and caused one turnover.
 
Ciran (14gp-10gs) enjoyed a breakout sophomore season as he led the Griffins with 27 goals while ranking second on the team in points (2nd, 32), shots (2nd, 105), and game-winning goals (2nd, 2 GWG). He also recorded 19 ground balls and five caused turnovers while making two Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Weekly Honor Roll appearances (Mar. 9, Mar. 17) and earning the April-21, AEC Player of the Week award with a six-goal performance against the Neumann University (W, 15-7 on Apr. 18). Ciran scored two GWG and four man-up goals.
 
Academically, the cybersecurity major was a member of the Spring 2025 Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite.
 
Another Bryn Athyn College transfer, Galvan (14gp-6gs) started his first five games in the Red and Gold. He finished the season with 16 points (10 goals, 6 assists), 59 shots, eight ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
 
The sports management major was a member of the Fall 2025 Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite.
 
Guardino (14gp-14gs) was Gwynedd Mercy University's only goalkeeper for the 2026 season as he started all 14 contests, but missed 48 of the seconds of a double overtime loss at Alvernia University (L, 10-11 (2OT) on Mar. 25), due to a fourth-quarter penalty. He finished the year 7-7 with 134 saves on a .538 save percentage (SV%) and an 8.36 goals-against average (GAA). Guardino recorded his first collegiate point – an assist – when he located freshman defenseman Caleb Gaines (Brookhaven, Pa.) for his first collegiate goal on a man-down goal midway through the first quarter; 1-0 ( 7:18, 1QTR), of an 8-6 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) – Florham (Mar. 7). He also recovered 39 ground balls and caused four turnovers.
 
A criminal justice major, Gaurdino is a three-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite (Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Spring 2026) and a two-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2024-2025, 2025-2026).
 
Devine (14gp-14gs) supported his captaincy with his third straight All-AEC First Team selection. He finished the season with AEC Top-10 statistics in shots (3rd, 121), goals (7th, 26), and points (10th, 34); overall, he totaled 26 goals on a team-high 121 shots and added eight assists for a team-high 34 points. Additionally, he recovered 36 ground balls and caused nine turnovers; three of his goals were scored with a man-up, while another was netted with a man-down. Devine garnered AEC Weekly Honor Roll recognition on March 23 and March 30.
 
Academically, the computer information science major is highly decorated. Devine was a member of both the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team 2025 Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Area Team. He earned recognition on the 2024-2025 Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Academic Spring Honor Roll and was inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma; National College Athlete Honor Society in 2026. Devine is a three-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite (Fall 2023, Fall 2024, Spring 2025) and a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026), including his freshman year at former league rival Cabrini University.
 
Tedeschi (14gp-4gs) supported his captaincy with a strong season in the face-off circle; he won 160-of-264 (.606) face-offs and recovered a team-high 71 ground balls to help fuel the Griffin offense. Tedeschi made four starts in 14 contests and additionally recorded a goal (1 point), two shots, and three caused turnovers. He also made an appearance in goal; he allowed one goal in 48 seconds of the fourth quarter at Alvernia University (L, 10-11 (2OT) on Mar. 25) to finish the season with a 75.00 GAA.

Like Devine, the computer information science major has celebrated various academic honors over the course of his collegiate career. He was also a member of the 2024-2025 EAST-COMM Academic Spring Honor Roll and was inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma in 2026. Tedeschi is a seven-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletic Academic Elite (Fall 2022, Spring 2023, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025) and a three-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025).
 
The Academic All-America program is conducted by the members of the CSC and separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, Second, and Third Team Academic All-America honorees for the at-large programs will be announced on July 7 (women) and 8 (men), 2026.
