Landon Glovas (Nazareth, Pa.) earned the title with his four innings of no-hit debut in the Griffins' 12-0, seven-inning victory over Penn State Hazleton (Mar. 1). He was joined on the report by his shortstop, junior
Drew Haines (Hammonton, N.J.), who garnered a Weekly Honor Roll mention for his defense and a 4-for-8 weekend with four walks, four runs, three runs-batted-in (RBI), and a stolen base.
Opposite Glovas, the AEC Baseball Player of the Week award went to Marywood University junior catcher/right fielder Joel Ayers (Severn, Md.). Haines was joined on the Weekly Honor Roll by Marywood University senior pitcher/outfielder Danny Tiedemann (Manorville N.Y.), Centenary University (N.J.) junior catcher/infielder Dominick Chiego (Macungie, Pa.), as well as Marymount University freshman pitcher Chase Allen (Gainesville, Va.) and sophomore infielder Joshmar Carbonell (Jacksonville, Fla.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (4-1) welcomed Penn State Hazleton (0-1) to Frank O. Genuardi Legends Baseball Field on Friday, February 27, to kick off the Red and Gold's round-robin tournament. With some incredible defense from Haines, timely hitting from senior infielder

Connor Hafto (Washington Township, N.J.), the Griffins earned a 7-1 victory over the Nittany Lions. Hafto (2-0) finished with a strong 5.1 innings of work, allowing one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out five. Haines was 2-for-4 with a walk and a seventh-inning RBI double.
Down 5-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning versus Penn State Abington (1-3), Gwynedd Mercy University brought home two runners. Unfortunately, the rally was cut short in a 5-4 conclusion. Freshmen, third baseman

Jacob Ruddell (Warrington, Pa.) had themselves an afternoon as the former was 2-for-2 with two walks and the latter was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Haines provided quality glove while going 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs.
The temperature plummeted by more than 20 degrees on Sunday (Mar. 1), but Gwynedd Mercy University continued to hit the ball well at the start of the season as two runs in their first at-bat (2-0), another in their third (3-0), and nine runs in their fourth was enough end their second game against Penn State Hazleton (0-3) after the top of the seventh; 12-0 (7). Glovas benefited from the Red and Gold's offense while keeping the Nittany Lions uncomfortable at the plate. He earned the win (1-0) and allowed no hits in his collegiate debut as he walked three and struck out three while working around two outfield errors in a high-sky day at Frank O.
