Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (5/27/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University senior designated hitter Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.) and sophomore pitcher Connor Hafto (Washington Township, N.J.) were selected to the 2026 D3Baseball.com All-Region 5 Team, respectively garnering Second and Third Team recognition. Both Griffins were recognized on the 2026 All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Baseball Team; DeCarlo earned his second straight All-AEC First Team selection and was recently recognized on the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III (DIII) All-Region V Third Team, while the latter garnered All-AEC Second Team honors.
 
2026 season marks the 14th season that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with more than 1,000 players nominated by their respective Sports Information Directors. For each of the ten regions in NCAA DIII, D3Baseball.com recognizes a regional player of the year (a batter), a pitcher of the year, a rookie of the year (must be a freshman) and a coach of the year. All recipients and major award winners are determined by the D3baseball.com staff and contributors.
 
DeCarlo (39gp-38gs) totaled 23 runs and 40 RBI with a .376 (56-for-149)/.448/.456 slash line. The Red and Gold captain was hit by five pitches, drew 17 walks, and struck out 13 times over 149 at-bats. He was named to the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on February 23, March 17, March 30, and April 6.
 
As the staff ace for 2026, Hafto (11gp-11gs) was vital to the Griffins' success. He went 5-2 on a 2.73 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. Over 62.2 innings of work, he allowed 19 earned runs on 62 hits and 16 walks. Hafto threw one wild pitch, hit 13 batsmen, walked 16, and struck out 45 while holding opponents to a .259 batting average. He was named to the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on April 20 after an 8.1-inning gem in the Griffins' 3-2 win over Marymount University (Apr. 17); Hafto scattered four hits and three walks over 25 outs as he induced the Saints into 15 groundouts while carrying a shutout into the ninth inning.
