DeCarlo and Wissmann Headline Four Griffins on All-AEC Baseball Team

2026 All-AEC Baseball Team: Jimmy DeCarlo (1st Team, Designated Hitter), Karl Wissmann (1st Team, Utility), Connor Hafto (2nd Team, Pitcher), Jake Vitale (2nd Team, Infield)
Lancaster, Pa. – (5/13/2026) – Following a repeat championship for Marymount University, Commissioner Rebecca Mullen has officially announced the 2026 All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Baseball Team and Major Award Winners. The Saints offered the 2026 AEC Baseball Player of the year in senior outfielder Quincy Via (Springfield, Va.), while Marywood University senior Danny Tiedmann (Manorville, N.Y.) was crowned the 2026 AEC Baseball Pitcher of the Year. Immaculata University freshman outfielder Danny Nocito (Langhorne, Pa.) was recognized as the 2026 AEC Baseball Rookie of the Year, Saint Elizabeth University senior Aiden Folsom (Beachwood, N.J.) was recognized as the 2026 AEC Baseball Reliever of the Year and the Centenary University (N.J.) coaching staff; Head Coach Andrew Romanella and this assistants Casey DeMarco, Aidan Pitshone, Angelo Rinaldi, and Cory Commer were recognized as the 2026 AEC Baseball Coaching Staff of the Year. Honoring the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) competing at the finals site, the Elite Scholar Athlete Award went to Marymount University senior pitcher Nick Trapanese (Kinnelon, N.J.). Gwynedd Mercy University was represented on the 2026 All-AEC Baseball Team with First Team selections for senior designated hitter Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.) and junior utility Karl Wissmann (Cinnaminson, N.J.), as well as Second Team selections for junior infielder Jake Vitale (Laurel Springs, N.J.) and sophomore pitcher Connor Hafto (Washington Township, N.J.).
 
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III leader in stolen bases (58-of-64, (.906), Via (44 games played – 44 games started) was the ultimate table setter for Marymount University. The Saints' lead-off man batted .413 (71-for-172) with a .493 on-base percentage (OBP) and a .570 slugging percentage (SLG) producing a 1.063 on-base plus slugging (OPS) that resulted in 60 runs scored and 31 runs-batted-in (RBI). He totaled 54 singles, 14 doubles, and three home runs for 98 total bases while drawing 23 walks and eight beanballs. Via struck out 23 times in a 172 total at-bats.
 
Tiedmann (2026 All-AEC Baseball: Jimmy DeCarlo (1st Team, Designated Hitter)14gp-9gs) allowed 20 earned runs over 48.1 inning pitched for a 3.44 earned run average (ERA), a 1.38 walks-plus-hits/innings pitched (WHIP), and a 5-1 record. He threw two wild pitches, hit seven batsmen, walked 17, and struck out 28 while holding opponents to a .281 batting average.
 
Folsom (14gp-1gs) made 13 appearances out of the Saint Elizabeth University bullpen and held their opponents to 17 earned runs over his 29.1 innings. Sporting a 5.22 ERA and a 1.60 WHIP, Folsom was 1-2 with one save. He threw six wild pitches, hit eight batsmen, walked 21, and struck out 39 while holding opponents to a .236 batting average.   
 
Nocito (37gp-33gs) made a major impact in his debut season with the Mighty 2026 All-AEC Baseball: Karl Wissmann (1st Team, Utility)Macs as the freshman outfielder totaled 30 runs scored and 27 RBI with a .346 (44-for-127)/.429/.512 slash line (AVG/OBP/SLG). He was hit by three pitches, drew 16 walks, and struck out 23 times over 127 at-bats.
 
Head Coach Andrew Romanella and his staff directed Centenary University (N.J.) to a 20-24 overall record and an AEC best 12-6 league standing. The Cyclones totaled 327 runs with a .313 (455-for-1,453)/.429/.408 slash line and stole 101 bases on 126 attempts (.802). Meanwhile, their pitching staff posted a 6.64 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP as they allowed 272 earned runs over 368.2 innings. Centenary University walked 161 and struck out 182 opponents with a .309 batting-average against (BAA).
 
DeCarlo (39gp-38gs) earned his second straight All-AEC First Team honor with another impressive offensive 2026 All-AEC Baseball: Connor Hafto (2nd Team, Pitcher)campaign. The Red and Gold captain totaled 23 runs and 40 RBI with a .376 (56-for-149)/.448/.456 slash line. He was hit by five pitches, drew 17 walks, and struck out 13 times over 149 at-bats. DeCarlo was named to the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on February 23, March 17, March 30, and April 6.
 
Wissmann (33gp-28gs) was a welcomed addition to the Griffin lineup and defense as the junior transfer earned starts in the outfield and at first base with a consistent glove and a .340 (36-for-106)/.440/.396 slash line that produced 22 runs and 24 RBI. He was hit twice, drew 17 walks, and struck out 16 times over 106 at-bats.  
 
As 2026 All-AEC Baseball Team: Jake Vitale (2nd Team, Infield)the staff ace for 2026, Hafto (11gp-11gs) was vital to the Griffins success. He went 5-2 on a 2.73 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. Over 62.2 innings of work, he allowed 19 earned runs on 62 hits and 16 walks. Hafto threw one wild pitch, hit 13 batsmen, walked 16, and struck out 45 while holding opponents to a .259 batting average. He was named to the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on April 20 after an 8.1-inning gem in the Griffins' 3-2 win over Marymount University (Apr. 17); Hafto scattered four hits and three walks over 25 outs as he induced the Saints into 15 ground outs while carrying a shutout into the ninth inning.

Vitale (31gp-29gs) solidified the Gwynedd Mercy University infield with his play at shortstop as the junior transfer posted a .953 fielding percentage with just seven errors in 150 chances. At the plate, he scored 22 runs and knocked in 17 with a .327 (33-for-101)/.450/.356 slash line. Vitale was hit seven times while drawing 18 walks and striking out 13 times over 101 at-bats.
