Lancaster, Pa. – (5/27/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University senior designated hitter Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.) was recently honored on the 2026 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III (DIII) All-Region V Third Team. DeCarlo was recognized on the 2026 All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Baseball First Team at designated hitter for the second straight season.
 
The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA DIII All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and coordinated by the ABCA NCAA DIII All-America & Coach of the Year Committee; Paul Hesse of the University of Mount Union serves as Chair of the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America & Coach of the Year Committee. Committee members also include Brian Casey (U.S. Coast Guard Academy), Pete Egbert (Misericordia University), Dan Gomez (Western New England University), Ray Hedrick (Randolph-Macon College), Luke Johnson (North Park University), Scott Laverty (Chapman University), Yogi Lutz (Alvernia University), Nick Pontari (SUNY Brockport), and Kevin Tomasiewicz (University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh).
 
DeCarlo (39gp-38gs) earned his second straight All-AEC First Team honor with another impressive offensive campaign. The Red and Gold captain totaled 23 runs and 40 RBI with a .376 (56-for-149)/.448/.456 slash line. He was hit by five pitches, drew 17 walks, and struck out 13 times over 149 at-bats. DeCarlo was named to the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll on February 23, March 17, March 30, and April 6.
 
The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America teams will be announced on the evening of Thursday, May 28, following the Opening Ceremony at the 2026 NCAA DIII World Series in Eastlake, Ohio.
