Lancaster, Pa. – (2/23/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University's Nick Citrigno (Southampton, Pa.) held the hot stick in wins over Albright College (W, 19-8 on Feb. 18) and Lycoming College (W, 10-1 on Feb. 21) as the senior attack totaled 11 points (8 goals, 3 assists), a ground ball, and a caused turnover against the Lions and Warriors. The performance garnered him the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week award. He was joined on the report by fellow senior, face-off Jake Tedeschi (Goshen, N.Y.), who was 23-of-30 (.767) in the circle while grabbing 10 ground balls and causing a turnover.
 
Opposite Citrigno, Immaculata University senior goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow (Willow Grove, Pa.) was named the AEC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week. Tedeschi was joined on the AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University sophomore attack Jason Smaron (Philadelphia, Pa.), Marymount University sophomore attack Drew Bedard (Mechanicsburg, Pa.), and Marywood University sophomore face-off/midfielder Luke Ament (Nazareth, Pa.).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University (2-2) claimed their first prize of 2026 on Wednesday evening with a decisive 19-8 win at Albright College; the Griffins got started with four assisted goals in the first quarter and separated for a commanding 18-6 (3:23, 3QTR) advantage heading to the final minutes of the third quarter. Citrigno gave a career performance with six goals in a seven-point (6 goals, 1 assist) night. Fellow senior attacks, Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) (2 goals, 2 assists) and Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) (3 goals, 1 assist) recorded four points apiece, while Tedeschi was 17-of-21 (.810) in the circle with six ground balls and a caused turnover.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University evened their early-season record at 2-2 with Saturday's convincing 10-1 triumph at Lycoming College (0-2); Seaman (3 goals, 1 assist) and Citrigno (2, 2) totaled four points apiece, while junior defenseman Joe Oriold (Southampton, Pa.) (6 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers) and freshman defenseman Caleb Gaines (Brookhaven, Pa.) (4, 2) made sure the Warriors had their difficulties. Oriold added a face-off win (1-of-1, 1.000) to his defensive stats. The rest of the Griffins' face-off were manned by Tedeschi (6-of-9, ,667) and sophomore Edson Robles (3-of-4, .750).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their schedule on Wednesday, February 25, when they visit Drew University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
