Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (12/4/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University Head Women's Basketball Coach Keith Mondillo is pleased to welcome Jayla Greene as an assistant on his staff for the 2025-2026 season. "It's great to see another Griffin return to campus," Mondillo opened. "Coach Greene has a youthful energy and a fresh set of eyes. She knows what we are looking for in our student-athletes and she will work hard to get it out of them." Greene most recently served a two-year term as the head girls' basketball coach at Abington Friends School (2022-2024, AFS) and a season as an assistant on the men's staff at National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II member, Chestnut Hill College (2019-2020, CHC) and the girls' varsity staff at Imhotep Charter School (2018-2019).
"Returning to the Gwynedd Mercy University women's basketball program is a huge full circle moment for me," exclaimed Coach Greene. "At a young age I knew what career I wanted to pursue and I've been attacking it ever since. Grateful is an understatement!" Greene was a two-year member of the Gwynedd Mercy University women's basketball team; she totaled 118 points (2.6/game), 88 rebounds (1.9/game), 62 assists (1.3/game), 39 assists (0.85/game), and a block (0.02/game) in 46 career games. "I am fortunate to further my knowledge somewhere familiar to me, somewhere that feels like home. I have an understanding for the culture and the standards of the program, and I hope to bring the energy and intensity it needs to be successful. Let's ball!"
At Gwynedd Mercy University, Coach Greene assists Coach Mondillo in practice planning, skill development, and in-game strategy. In addition to her stops at Imhotep Charter, CHC, and AFS, Greene was an intern with Philadelphia Youth Basketball (2016-2021) and a coach with the Triple Threat Foundation (2016-2020).
