Eagan’s Effort versus Golden Flyers Earns AEC Women’s Basketball Weekly Roll Mention
 
Lancaster, Pa. – (1/6/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University senior forward Alexis Eagan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) recorded a team-high 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals in a January-3 loss (L, 62-78) to Nazareth University to earn an Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Basketball Weekly Honor Roll mention.
 
Immaculata University swept the first AEC Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards for the first week of the New Year as senior guard Reese Mullins (Hockessin, Del.) garnered the AEC Player of the Week and senior guard Tessa Liberatoscioli (Malvern, Pa.) received the AEC Defensive Player of the Week honor. Eagan was joined on the AEC Weekly Honor Roll by Neumann University senior forward Emily DuPont (Malvern, Pa.) and Centenary University (N.J.)
 
Gwynedd Mercy University (4-9) kicked off the 2025 portion of their schedule with their second-ever meeting with Nazareth University (7-3). The Griffins and Golden Flyers last faced off on December 28, 2006, when the Red and Gold took home a 70-60 victory. Early in the current contest, Gwynedd Mercy caught fire all over the floor shooting 6-of-11 from the field (55%) and 3-of-5 (60%) from three. The Griffins took a 39-35 lead going into the half. Gwynedd Mercy could not keep the lead as Nazareth would go on to a 28-13 fourth-quarter advantage and secure a 78-62 victory.
 
Gwynedd Mercy is back in action on Wednesday, January 8 when the team takes on Marywood University for their first Atlantic East Conference (AEC) matchup of the season with a 6:00 p.m. tipoff.
