Eight Points Versus Cyclones Earns Flamma AEC Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week Honor

Nick Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) recorded four goals and four assists to match a career-high eight points in Gwynedd Mercy University’s 25-7 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) and regular season finale at Centenary University (N.J.) (Apr. 24) to earn the first
Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week honor of his collegiate career. He also recovered a ground ball in the win over the Cyclones.
The AEC Defensive Player of the Week title went to sophomore goalkeeper Jacob Brooks (Centreville, Pa.), while Weekly Honor Roll recognition was given to Immaculata University graduate attack David Azzarano (Wayne, Pa.), Cabrini University graduate attack Dillon McManus (Dix Hills, N.Y.), and Neumann University sophomore attack Brendan Boschi (Litchfield, N.J.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (8-7, 5-1 AEC) traveled to Centenary University (N.J.) (1-13, 0-6 AEC) to play in their final AEC and regular season game of the 2024 season. Flamma played a role in five of the Griffins’ six first-quarter goals, assisting on the first three (12:58, 7:36, 6:52) and scoring the fourth (4-0, 4:20) and sixth (6-0, 2:44). The Red and Gold continued to roll the Cyclones with 7-3 spreads in both the second (13-3) and third (20-6) quarters, before finishing the contest off with a 5-1 fourth-quarter; 25-7. Flamma scored his third goal with 3:58 (12-2) remaining in the second quarter and his fourth with 7:15 (17-4) remaining in the third. His fourth assist found sophomore attack

With the First Round of the AEC Men’s Lacrosse Championship complete, #2 Gwynedd Mercy University will host #3 Marymount University in a 4:00 p.m. AEC Semifinal on Wednesday, May 1.
