Semenovykh Returns to AEC Women’s Soccer Weekly Report as Honor Roll Mention
 
Lancaster, Pa. – (9/11/2023) – Gwynedd Mercy University freshman forward Ksenia Semenovykh (Warrington, Pa.) recorded the only Griffin goal (3-1, 64:16) in a 4-1 loss to Bryn Athyn College (Sept 9) to return to the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Soccer Weekly Report as an Honor Roll mention. Centenary University (NJ) senior forward Blaise Vallorosi (Newtown, N.J.) joined Semenovykh on the Honor Roll, while Marywood University senior midfielder Josephine Sorce (Monroe, N.Y.) and junior goalkeeper Victoria Talarico (Quincy, Mass.) were respectively honored as the league’s Player and Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University (1-2) had to wait eight days to host their first home game of the 2023 regular season as they welcomed Bryn Athyn College to campus on Saturday (Sept. 9) afternoon. The Lions used a pair of late first-half scores (30:08, 31:26) and bookended Semenovykh’s third goal of the season to win the contest by a three-goal margin. Despite the goal differential, the Griffins led the shot category by a 25-18 spread. Semenovykh supplied a team-high nine shots.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University competes next on Wednesday, September 13, when they visit Rosemont College for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
