Kansas City, Mo. – (8/10/2026) – On Friday, August 7, the United Soccer Coaches (USC) recognized the Gwynedd Mercy University men's and women's soccer teams among 794 nation-wide who earned recognition on the organization's
2025-2026 Team Academic Awards (
.PDF). The USC Team Academic Awards honor intercollegiate soccer programs that maintain a team GPA of 3.0, or higher, during the given school year. Of the 794 teams recognized across all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) divisions, 333 are men's teams and 461 are women's; a total of 185 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
This marks the seventh straight USC Team Academic Award for the Gwynedd Mercy University men's soccer team, who combined for a 3.27 GPA during the 2025-2026 school year. They placed 13 student-athletes on the recently released 2025-2026 Eastern Athletic Communications Association (EAST-COMM) Fall Academic Honor Roll, 20 on the 2025-2026 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) All-Academic Team, 19 on the Spring 2026, Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite, and 17 on the Fall 2025, Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite. Luke O'Donnell (Glenside, Pa.) - were recognized on the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III (DIII) Men's Soccer Academic All-District Team and four – Clyde, Kehan, senior
Hagan Meyer (Warrington, Pa.), and
Joe Romano (Blue Bell, Pa.) were inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society.
For the Gwynedd Mercy University women's soccer team, this is also the seventh straight USC Team Academic Award, but their 11
th in program history. The women combined for a 3.67 GPA; like the men, they placed 13 student-athletes on the 2025-2026 EAST-COMM Fall Academic Honor Roll and 20 on the 2025-2026 AEC All-Academic Team. Contrastingly, they had 18 Griffins recognized on both the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite. Five – senior

Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) – were inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma. Malloy was the first Griffin ever recognized with the AEC's The AEC Elite Scholar Athlete Award, which is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA competing at the finals site for each conference-sponsored sport.
