Lancaster, Pa. – (4/20/2026) – For the second straight week, a Gwynedd Mercy University pitcher earned recognition on the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Baseball Weekly Honor Roll as sophomore
Connor Hafto (Washington Township, N.J.) made an appearance following an 8.1-inning gem in the Griffins' 3-2, Friday afternoon win over Marymount University. Hafto scattered four hits and three walks over 25 outs as he induced the Saints into 15 ground outs while carrying a shutout into the ninth inning.
Marymount University junior infielder Evan Schick (Burke, Va.) was named the AEC Baseball Player of the Week, while Immaculata University junior Alex LePage (Cinnaminson, N.J.) was named the AEC Baseball Pitcher of the Week. Hafto was joined on the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University junior outfielder Nick Turnage (Haddonfield, N.J.), Marywood University junior catcher/right fielder Joel Ayers (Severn, Md.), as well as Neumann University junior outfielder Nick Ciesielka (Swedesboro, N.J.) and junior pitcher Josh Lillis (Parkside, Pa.).
Thanks to Hafto, Gwynedd Mercy University (16-15, 7-8) opened their weekend series with Marymount University (18-14, 9-6) with a 3-2 victory. The Griffins combined his dominant pitching performance with timely hitting and superb defense to secure the league win. Junior shortstop
Jake Vitale (Laurel Springs, N.J.) led the offense with a 3-for-4 effort that doubled in a Red and Gold run (2-0) in the third inning; he also made an acrobatic double play on a seventh-inning liner. Hafto was exceptional as he struck out three and earned his third win (3-2) of the season while only allowing a pair of unearned runs over 8.1 innings.
Gwynedd Mercy University breaks from AEC play on Monday, April, when they host the University of Valley Forge for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
