Kira Bradley (Langhorne, Pa.) returned to the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll for her play in a 1-1 week versus King's College (Pa.) (W, 17-7 on Mar. 18) and Lebanon Valley College (L, 3-22 on Mar. 21). Bradley totaled 10 points (9 goals, 1 assist), eight ground balls, five caused turnovers, and nine draw controls between the two contests.
Bradley was joined on the AEC Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll by Marywood University senior midfielder Avery Meighan (Floral Park, N.Y.), Centenary University (N.J.) senior midfielder Trista Hough (Branchville, N.J.) and freshman goalkeeper Kylie Trilling (Stillwater, N.J.), as well as Immaculata University junior attack Julia Pohl (Bethlehem, Pa.) and junior midfielder Elizabeth Mahmud (Downingtown, Pa.). The AEC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week honor went to Neumann University junior attack/midfielder Alena Catka (Brookhaven, Pa.), while her teammate senior defender/midfielder Maggie Miller (Philadelphia, Pa.) was recognized as the AEC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.
Gwynedd Mercy University (1-7) finished a mid-season road stretch with their first win of the season as Bradley willed the Griffins to a 17-7 victory with nine points (8 goals, 1 assist), six draw controls, five ground balls, and a caused turnover. Her fellow midfielders, junior
Rebecca Gordon (Sicklerville, N.J.) (8 points; 7 goals, 1 assist) and sophomore midfielder
Elena Colliluori (Gilbertsville, Pa.) (5; 1, 4) were her trusted running mates as the duo combined for 12 of the Griffins other 15 points. Bradley's nine-point performance is her best as a Griffin to date. She scored a season-high eight goals on 17 shots and she was 1-for-4 (.250) on her free position opportunities.
Gwynedd Mercy University hosted Lebanon Valley College (6-3) for this Saturday afternoon's home affair. The Griffins scored twice with the extra player, as Bradley and Colliluori capitalized on the advantage with 1:41 (7-1) remaining in the first quarter and with 7:51 (15-2) remaining in the third quarter, respectively. The final Red and Gold goal of the unfortunate 22-3 conclusion was an unassisted score from Gordon with 1:42 (22-3) remaining in the fourth quarter. Bradley added three ground balls, four caused turnovers, and three draw controls to her score.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to the Athletic Complex on Monday, March 23, when they host Delaware Valley University for a 3:00 p.m. contest.
