Ciran and Oriold Collect AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll Recognition

AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll (3/16/2026): Joe Oriold, Landen Ciran
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/16/2026) – Gwynedd Mercy University sophomore midfield/attack  Landen Ciran (Ephrata, Pa.) and junior defenseman Joe Oriold (Southampton, Pa.) were recognized for their contributions to the Griffins' 23-2 win over Cairn University (Mar. 11) with Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll recognition. Ciran scored three goals on six shots, distributed three assists, and recovered four ground balls, while Oriold captained the Red and Gold's defensive effort with the first goal of his collegiate career, seven ground balls, and three caused turnovers in the victory.
 
The AEC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week award went to Marymount University graduate James Elko (Purcellville, Va.), Immaculata University senior goalkeeper Matthew Ludlow (Willow Grove, Pa.). Ciran and Oriold were joined on the AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll by Immaculata University sophomore attack Jason Smaron (Philadelphia, Pa.), Marymount University sophomore defenseman/long stick midfielder Kayne Otto (Perry Hall, Md.), and Marywood University sophomore face-off/midfielder Luke Ament (Nazareth, Pa.).
 
Gwynedd Mercy University (4-3) delivered a dominant performance in Wednesday's 23-2 Morgan's Message victory over Cairn University (0-4). The Red and Gold erupted for eight first-quarter scores, 8-0 (1:03), and took a calculated 11-0 (0:48) lead into the halftime break. The Highlanders struck twice during the third quarter, but the Griffins returned the favor with a dozen (12) second-half goals. Ciran recovered four ground balls and recorded a team-high six points with three goals and three assists; he found Oriold for his first collegiate goal – and the Griffins' 10th unanswered goal of the game – with 5:04 (10-0) remaining in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Oriold also led defensively with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action when they host Delaware Valley University on Wednesday, March 18, for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
