2025 Philly-SIDA Softball Academic All-Area Team: Jocelyn Baumeister
Philadelphia, Pa. – (6/5/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University fifth-year pitcher/infielder Jocelyn Baumeister (Willow Grove, Pa.) was named to the 2025 Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) Softball Academic All-Area Team (.PDF). Baumeister a 2025 All-AEC Softball First Team selection after ranking first in league for complete games (1st, 15 CG), second in earned run average (2nd, 2.68 ERA), strikeouts (2nd, 115) and batting average against (2nd, .229 BAA). She also produced her best offensive season with career-highs in hits (36), triples (2), runs-batted-in (24, RBI), batting average (.387 AVG), and slugging percentage (.484 SLG).
 
Selected by the sport information directors from 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, Baumeister were joined on the 2025 Philly-SIDA Softball Academic All-Area Team by West Chester University junior pitcher Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa.), Ursinus College senior shortstop Samantha Mallen (Belle Mead, N.J.), Swarthmore College senior utility Olivia McClammy (Riverside, Conn.), Penn State Abington senior pitcher/outfielder Gretchen Yanss (Odenton, Md.), as well as trios of student-athletes from Villanova University - junior pitcher Kat Gallant (Monroe, Conn.), sophomore pitcher/first baseman Maranda Runco (Olyphant, Pa.), and senior outfielder/pitcher Kelsey White – and Rowan University – fifth-year infielder Payton MacNair (Cinnaminson, N.J.), junior pitcher Emily McCutcheon (Mt. Ephraim, N.J.), and senior utility Liz McCaffery (Cranford, N.J.). McCaffery was recognized as the 2025 Philly-SIDA Softball Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.
 
McCaffery was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Second Team performer in 2025 as she led Rowan University in nearly every offensive category; including batting average (.425; 76-for-179), runs (66), hits (76), triples (6), home runs (5), and stolen bases (27). McCaffery earned NFCA All-Region IV First Team honors for the third consecutive season and is a two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) First Team (2023, 2025) selection. Her 2025 season has helped lead the Profs to their best record in program history - 49-4 - and advance them to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Softball Championship Tournament.
 
The sports communications and media major is a two-time New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) All-Academic Honorable Mention (2022-2023, 2023-2024), a three-time Rowan University Scholar-Athlete of Distinction (2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024), and she was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma; the National College Athlete Honor Society in 2024.
 
Baumeister's 2025 All-AEC First Team selection was the second all-league accolade of her collegiate career as the Red and Gold's ace was a Second Team performer in 2024. In 2025, she also ranked among the league's Top-5 in wins (3rd, 9), innings pitched (4th, 112.2 IP), shutouts (4th, 1), and starts, (5th, 15). With her career-year in strikeouts (115), Baumeister finished her collegiate career with a program-record 328. In addition to her previously mentioned offensive stats, Baumeister finished with a .387 (36-for-93)/.396/.484 slash line that scored her a dozen (12) times. She was beaned twice and stole one base (1-for-1, 1.000). Baumeister appeared on the AEC Softball Weekly Report six times, earning Weekly Honor Roll mentions March 18, March 25, March 31, April 14, April 21, and April 28.
 
The radiation therapy major earned a third straight CSC Academic All-District Softball Team selection in 2025. She is a seven-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (F21, S22, F22, S23, F23, S24, F24), a four-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2020-2021, 2021-2022, 2022-2023, 2023-2024), and was also inducted to Chi Alpha Sigma in 2024.
