#4 Griffins Travel to #1 Mighty Macs for Saturday’s AEC Men’s Lacrosse Semifinal

Lancaster, Pa. – (4/25/2025) – With the conclusion of the regular and league season schedules, interim commissioner Rebecca Mullen has officially released the seeding for the 2025 Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. League wins versus Centenary University (N.J.) (W, 29-4 on Apr. 4) and at Neumann University (W, 20-11 on Apr. 12) earned Gwynedd Mercy University (6-9, 2-3) the #4 seed and a trip to #1 Immaculata University (12-5, 5-0) for a 1:00 p.m. AEC Semifinal on Saturday, April 26. #2 Marymount University (10-5, 4-1) and #3 Marywood University (9-8, 3-2) are scheduled to meet in the opposing semifinal (1:00 p.m. on Apr. 26), while the AEC Women's Lacrosse Championship is schedule to take place on Saturday, May 3, at the home of the highest remaining seed.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University hosted Immaculata University for a night game on Wednesday, April 9. Senior attack Richie Hughes (Turnersville, N.J.) scored the first goal of the game with 7:14 remaining in the first quarter; 1-0. He tied it up at 2-2 with 5:05 remaining in the frame and helped keep the Griffins within two scores of the Mighty Macs heading to halftime as he found senior attack Dominic Romania (Phoenixville, Pa.) with 0:46 seconds remaining for the 100th point of his collegiate career; 8-6. Despite the milestone effort, the Mighty Macs controlled the momentum in the second half as they used a 3-0 third quarter to spur them to a 13-7 decision. Hughes was the only Griffin to record multiple points; he finished with three points (2 goals, 1 assist) and 10 shots. Senior goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) recorded 17 saves, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers in the loss (5-7).
 
Currently, three Griffins have totaled over 40 points this season, including junior attack Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) (46 points; 34 goals, 12 assists), junior attack Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) (46; 29, 17), and senior midfielder Ian Kish (Easton, Pa.) (44; 30, 14). Seaman ranks seventh among his league peers in goals with a team-high 34; he recorded the 100th tally of his collegiate career in the Griffins' recent season finale versus Marymount University (L, 5-17 on Apr. 23) and he is currently tied for eighth in the league for points with Devine. Devine, also ranks among the AEC Top-10 in assists (8th, 17), while Kish owns Top-10 numbers in both goals (9th, 30) and assists (T10th, 14). The former leads the Red and Gold in ground balls (47) and caused turnovers (14) as well.

In goal, the elder Devine (6-9) ranks first in the AEC for saves with 213. He has posted a 12.39 goals-against average (GAA) and a .556 save percentage (SV%) over 823:09 minutes.
