Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – (2/26/2025) – On Wednesday, March 5, the Gwynedd Mercy University women's and men's lacrosse teams will co-host a Morgan's Message Night. "Balancing schoolwork and athletics can take a toll on mental health, leading to stress and burnout. It is crucial for us to take care of our mental well-being and do anything we can to help spread Morgan's Message about student-athlete mental health," stated Gwynedd Mercy University women's soccer junior
Natalie Morris (Boyertown, Pa.). "For student-athletes, prioritizing mental health ensures balanced development, resilience, and healthier coping mechanism!"
Morgan's Message mission is
to amplify stories, resources, and expertise to strengthen student-athlete mental health, build a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations and provide a platform for advocacy. Established in 2020, the community organization strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. They aim to expand the dialogue on mental health by normalizing conversations, empowering those who suffer in silence, and supporting those who feel alone.
Members of the Gwynedd Mercy University women's and men's lacrosse teams and coaching staffs will be wearing commemorative t-shirts, while representatives of Morgan's Message will be in attendance during the 4:00 p.m. (Women's) and 7:00 p.m. (Men's) doubleheader to provide more information and answer questions about the work they do to raise awareness about the importance of student-athlete mental health.
