Lancaster, Pa. – (4/28/2022) – With the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) season coming to a close with last night's (Apr. 27) finals, league commissioner Jessica Huntley has officially released the field for the
2022 AEC Men's Lacrosse Championship Tournament. A 2-4 league standing secured Gwynedd Mercy University (4-11, 2-4) the #6 seed in the postseason playoff and therefore will visit #3 Marywood University

(11-5, 4-2) for the quarterfinal round. The AEC quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday, April 30; the Griffins and Pacers are set for a 1:00 p.m. opening face-off. Meanwhile, as the #4 seed, Neumann University (10-7, 3-3) will host #5 Immaculata University (5-9, 2-4) for the other AEC quarterfinal (1:00 p.m.).
On Wednesday, April 20, Marywood University scored the first six goals of the regular season meeting. Sophomore midfielder
GianLuca Lockhart (Turnersville, N.J.) scored the only Gwynedd Mercy University (3-10, 1-3) score in the first quarter, 6-1 (0:02), and with each side scoring a tally in the second quarter, 7-2 (5:09), a 4-3 Pacer second half precipitated an 11-5 victory for the home team.

Sam Flamma (Sewell, N.J.) led the defense in front of senior
Aubron Swartley (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) with four ground balls and two caused turnovers. Swartley recorded 22 saves and a ground balls in the loss (3-9).
The winners of the AEC Quarterfinals will advance to the Semifinal Round, which is scheduled for Wednesday, May 4 (TBA).
