GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy will be making its third appearance in its nine-year history in the Colonial States Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship on Saturday. The second-seeded Griffins battle top-seeded Cabrini with the CSAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at stake.
Gwynedd (10-4) advanced to the championship after a 17-3 semifinal win over Centenary on Saturday, April 30th. The 17th-ranked Cavaliers, with a 13-4 record, punched their ticket with a 23-3 victory over Marywood.
The Griffins also reached the title game in 2010 and 2012 also against Cabrini.

Dana Lindstrom, now in his eighth season, will look upon his 10 seniors to try an upset the Cavaliers, coached by Steve Colfer in his 16th season, who have won the last 15 conference championships.
GMercyU has won nine of their last 10 games, including the last five in a row. That one loss came to the same Cabrini team
in a 19-3 decision here on April 6th.
The game will feature three of the top scorers in the CSAC.
Tony McCraw, the 2016 CSAC Co-Player of the Year leads the Griffins with 40 goals and 20 assists. Matt LoParo has recorded 67 points (29g/38a) and teammate Jordan Krug has added 61 (35g/26a) for the Cavaliers, who lead the conference in scoring. Gwynedd features the top defenses in the CSAC allowing just 97 goals this year.

Sean Myers leads the CSAC with a goals against average under seven goals a game (6.58 GAA) while the tandem of Riley White (7.02 GAA) and Tyler Morrell (7.60 GAA) of Cabrini are not far behind.
