2016 CSAC Team Tournament Semifinal, GMercyU to face Marywood tomorrow for the CSAC Title

PHILADELPHIA -- Top-seeded Gwynedd Mercy will have the opportunity to defend its title as the Griffins posted a 5-0 win over fourth-seeded Cabrini in the semifinal of the 2016 Colonial States Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Team Tournament at the Legacy Tennis Center in Philadelphia.

The Griffins will face second seed Marywood, who outlasted #3 Immaculata, 5-2 in Friday's other semifinal, on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. to decide the 2016 CSAC Championship. Gwynedd is looking to lock down their fourth title in a row.

In the best of nine format, where the first team to secure five wins, GMercyU made quick work at all three doubles matches, winning each at 8-0.

Katie Garthaus would score a 6-0, 6-0 win at #1 singles to go up 4-0 and Natalie Danze would finish off the match with her 6-0, 6-1 victory at #2 singles.

Gwynedd and Marywood will meet in the final for the fifth consecutive year.
