Scranton, Pa. - (4/28/2022) - The Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament began today as #4 Gwynedd Mercy University (4-7) traveled to #1 Marywood University (10-7) for a 4:00 p.m. opening serve. The Pacers owned a 2-0 headstart in the semifinal due to Griffin defaults at number three doubles and number six singles. After an 8-1 win at number one doubles and an 8-3 win at number two doubles the Marywood University advantage expanded to 4-0. The clincher came number five singles, where sophomore Nicole Rival (Mickleton, N.J.) battled to an 6-0, 6-0, end. At number one singles, sophomore Casey Meenan (Perkasie, Pa.) was leading the flight with an unfinished 6-1, 2-1, score.

Gwynedd Mercy University finishes their 2021-2022 season with a 4-7 overall record and a 2-3 AEC standing.
