GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Tennis Team suffered their first loss of the season in a close 5-4 decision to Scranton on Wednesday.

The third doubles combo of Jenna Caffarello (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and Kristen Kriebel (Hatfield, Pa./Pennridge) looked very impressive with a convincing 8-4 victory.  The Griffins also got solid wins from Caffarello, Natalie Danze (Lansdale, Pa./Gwynedd Mercy Academy), and Katie Garthaus (Egg Harbor Twp, N.J./Egg Harbor Twp.) as well in singles action. "Overall our coaching staff was pleased with the way the team played against a strong opponent today," stated head coach Jim Holt.

The Griffins (2-1) look to rebound when they head South to Notre Dame of Maryland on Saturday for a CSAC matchup.
