PHILADELPHIA, PA. -- Gwynedd Mercy advanced to the championship match of the 2015 CSAC Team Tournament, defeating Cabrini, 5-0, in a semifinal matchup Friday afternoon at the Legacy Tennis Center in Philadelphia.

The top-seeded Griffins (10-1) will square off with second-seeded Neumann, who won a 5-1 decision over third-seeded Marywood in the other semifinal, tomorrow at 4 p.m.

The match is a best-of-nine format, in which the first team to secure five wins is declared the winner.

Gwynedd had little trouble in doubles, taking all three matches to go up 3-0. Junior Joshua Carson (Plantation, Fl./West Broward) (Plantation, Fl./West Broward) would cruise at #5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, putting the Griffins up 4-0. Two-time CSAC Player of the Year Peter Brzezinski (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) (Hatboro, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham) would score a 6-0, 6-2 win at #1 singles to lock up the win and help GMercyU move on to the finals.

The Griffins will appear in their second championship match, with the last one coming in 2009 also against Neumann, looking to unseat the defending champions.
