GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. -- The Gwynedd Mercy Women's Tennis Team took down visiting Cabrini, 8-1, on Thursday sending the Griffins to their eighth-straight win.

The final score was not indicative of the matches played. Today was seemingly a sheer battle at the helm.....the Griffins emerged victorious with a stone-cold performance in getting by the competitive Cavaliers.

Gwynedd won two of the three doubles to put them ahead, but there was much to decide in singles.  Senior Taylor Michener (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks South) came up really big in clutch time, especially after dropping the first set, 6-4.  The second set was a barn-burner with her coming out on top, 6-4.  Like Cortez's army, she came, she saw, she conquered and won the third set 6-3, earning her the "Player of the Game" for both her singles and doubles wins.  The rest of the singles line-up was on fire, with all nabbing straight-set wins.

The team resumes action tomorrow with another CSAC matchup against Immaculata. On Saturday, the squad travels to Neumann before concluding the week with a contest at Division II Millersville on Sunday.
