A celebrated member of the 2015-2016 Colonial States Athletic Championship (CSAC) team, Artis is one of the most recognizable faces in the history of GMercyU Athletics. His professional experience as a Harlem Globetrotter and his deep commitment to the University’s Mercy values makes him an invaluable member of the staff as he was named Gwynedd Mercy University's sixth head men's basketball coach prior to the 2025-2026 season.

Artis was the 2012-2013 Rookie of the Year and a three-time All-CSAC First Team selection (2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016) before being named the 2015-2016 CSAC Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his role in the Griffins’ run to the league crown. His 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 All-CSAC First Team seasons were dignified with National Basketball Coaches Association (NBCA) DIII All-Region V Second Team honors and City of Brotherly Love DII/DIII All-City Second Team recognition.
