Senior Lauren Tressel has been selected the Gwynedd Mercy Student-Athlete Of The Week for the week ending September 28th.
Tressel was a big part in helping the Griffins go 3-1 last week while picking up their first CSAC wins on the year. She paced the Griffins with 11 kills and 18 digs, both match-highs, in the 3-0 win over Summit on Thursday while also adding four service aces. She also had 12 digs against Cedar Crest over the weekend in GM's other CSAC victory. In total, Tressel recorded 45 digs, 22 kills and 10 service aces in the Griffins' 3-1 week with back to back CSAC victories.
For her efforts, she was also named to the weekly CSAC Volleyball Honor Roll for her performance.
This season, she currently leads the team (5-10, 2-1 CSAC) in kills (79) and kills per set (1.80 kps). The Griffins hit the road this week for matches at Centenary (Wednesday), Rutgers-Camden (Thursday), and Rosemont (Saturday).
