Crespo and Tedeschi Sweep AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards
Lancaster, Pa. – (4/7/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University freshman attack David Crespo (Furlong, Pa.) and junior face-off Jake Tedeschi (Goshen, N.Y.) were respectively honored as the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s Lacrosse Player and Defensive Player of the Week for their major contributions to the Griffins’ recent 29-4 triumph over league rival, Centenary University (N.J.) (Apr. 4). Crespo totaled a program single-game record 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) against the Cyclones, while Tedeschi helped the Red and Gold stay in possession of the ball with a 14-of-15 (.933) success rate on the draw and a team-high 10 ground balls.
The AEC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll included Immaculata University senior defenseman Aiden Lawrence (Mount Laurel, N.J.) and graduate attack David Azzarano (Wayne, Pa.), Marymount University sophomore defenseman Spencer Carfang (Alexandria, Va.) and senior attack Gavin Taylorson (Dundalk, Md.), Marywood University freshman midfielder Ben Meighan (Floral Park, N.Y.) and junior goalkeeper Colin Trainor (Staten Island, N.Y.), as well as Neumann University junior attack Connor Hurley (Littleton, Colo.) and senior face-off Jake Methlie (Springfield, Pa.).
With Saturday evening's AEC season opener also serving as Senior Night for the Red and Gold, Gwynedd Mercy University (5-6, 1-0) recognized the collegiate careers of seven stellar seniors - goalkeeper Jared Devine (Pottstown, Pa.), attack Richie Hughes (Turnersville, N.J.), midfielder Ian Kish (Easton, Pa.), defenseman Joshua Kolasa (Cherry Hill, N.J.), attack Dominic Romania (Phoenixville, Pa.), midfielder Nathan Tindall (Douglassville, Pa.), and defenseman Ryan Wilkins (Galloway, N.J.) - prior to disposing of their league rival, Centenary University (0-7-1, 0-1) by a historic 29-4 final. The Griffins established program single-game records in goals (29), assists (17), and points (46). They won a season's best 32-of-37 (.865) face-offs with Tedeschi winning 14-of-15 (.933) his chances. He also recorded three shots while recovering 10 of the Griffins' 52 ground balls. Crespo needed 12 shots for his six goals. He also recorded two ground balls.
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their AEC schedule on Wednesday, April 9, when they host Immaculata University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
