Ā
Lancaster, Pa. ā (12/13/2021) ā Sophomore guard Lynzie Eggers (Turnersville, N.J.) recorded her first career double-double - 18 points, 11 rebounds ā in Gwynedd Mercy Universityās 80-67 victory over Mahattanville College (Dec. 11), but she was only one of three Griffins to record a double-double as junior forwards Haley Crossley (Warminster, Pa.) and Cayla Sharkey (Lansdale, Pa.) joined her in the feat. For their efforts, Eggers was named to her second Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Womenās Basketball Player of the Week title while Crossley collected her second Weekly Honor Roll appearance.
Ā
An active Eggers gave Gwynedd Mercy University (5-5) the early energy it needed to pace Mahattanville College (9-2) to a 22-19 first-quarter spread and a 40-35 halftime score, before separating for an 80-67 victory on the strength of a 29-15 third-quarter edge. In the end, the Griffins held a 49-37 rebounding advantage while holding the home team to a 28.7% (25-of-87) shooting performance.
Ā
Eggers added a steal to her 18 points and 11 rebounds. Crossley totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Sharkey scored 11 points, 11 rebounds, an assist, and a block.
