Lancaster, Pa. – (10/9/2023) – Gwynedd Mercy University sophomore goalkeeper
Madisson Ronn (Warrington, Pa.) returned to the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Women’s Soccer Weekly Report as an Honor Roll mention with nine saves in a 0-0 tie with league rival Cabrini University (Oct. 4). She was joined on the Honor Roll by Neumann University freshman goalkeeper Sarah Andreano (Easton, Pa.) and sophomore defensemen Jaclyn Burmood (Cherry Hill, N.J.), and Marymount University freshman defender Leila Lajdel (Centreville, Va.). Meanwhile, the AEC Player and Defensive Player of the Week awards respectively went to Marywood University junior forward Riley Mulherin (Clarks Summit, Pa.) and Cabrini University junior goalkeeper Caroline Hassall (Norristown, Pa.).
Gwynedd Mercy University (6-3-2, 0-0-1) traveled to Cabrini University (2-5-2, 0-0-1) for Wednesday night’s AEC season opener. Ronn was outstanding in net, helping the Griffins’ capture a tie in a scoreless affair with nine saves. The Griffins were outshot 15-6, but Ronn’s nine saves made up for the difference and secured the goalkeeper her first shutout of the season.
Earlier in the week the Griffins earned a 3-1 non-conference win at Penn State Abington (Oct. 2). Ronn did not appear in the contest. She is 1-3-2 so far this season with 51 saves on a 2.12 goals-against average (GAA) and a .810 save percentage.
