Griffin Highlights:
- After falling behind early, the Griffins chipped away at the deficit before delivering a game-changing five-run fifth inning to even the score (6-6). Gwynedd Mercy capitalized on timely hitting and defensive miscues, with senior infielder Jimmy DeCarlo (Ridley Park, Pa.), freshman outfielder Charlie Neal (Mickleton, N.J.), and sophomore infielder Brady Belfus (Deptford, N.J.) each driving in runs during the rally that erased a five-run gap.
- DeCarlo led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance and two runs-batted-in (RBI), while Waldron reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with two walks and setting the tone at the top of the lineup. Neal added a key RBI single, and senior outfielder Jon Cimino (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) contributed an RBI in a pivotal late-inning at-bat.
- On the mound, the Griffins pieced together a strong bullpen effort to secure the win.
