Lancaster, Pa. – (3/9/2026) – In their first game at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, Gwynedd Mercy University junior outfielder
Noah Waldron (Collingswood, N.J.) nearly hit for the cycle in a 16-2, seven-inning win over Suffolk University (Mar. 6). The Red and Gold leadoff man scored four times and knocked in five runs in that performance, then he brought once more in a 5-4 loss to Clark University (Mar. 7). His 4-for-8 week garnered him the
Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Baseball Player of the Week award. His classmate,
Michael Inglisa (Delran, N.J.) appeared on the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll for picking up his second win (2-0) of the season versus the Rams; he struck out four over six innings (6.0 IP) while holding them to an unearned run on five hits and a walk.
Opposite Waldron, the AEC Baseball Pitcher of the Week award went to Neumann University senior Cam Leighton (Newark, Del.). Inglisa was joined on the AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll by Neumann University junior outfielder Donovan Brooks (New Castle, Del.).
After a scoreless two innings, Gwynedd Mercy University (5-2) erupted for 16 runs in their first game at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. As they supported another strong Inglisa start, the Griffins plated two runs in the third inning (2-0), five in the fourth (7-0), and four in the fifth to lead the Rams 11-0 heading to the bottom of the fifth inning. They added five more runs in the top of the seventh to force the issue. Waldron finished the seven-inning affair 3-for-5 with a leadoff double in the third, a three-run homerun in the fifth, and a two-run triple in the seventh.
The following day, Gwynedd Mercy University (5-2) took on Clark University (6-1) in an early-morning engagement. The teams exchanged runs over the nine frames, but the Cougars finished on top; 5-4. Sophomore pitcher
Connor Hafto (Washington Township, N.J.) continued an impressive start to his sophomore campaign as he allowed one earned run over five innings of a no decision; he allowed seven hits and walked two while striking out a career-high nine. Waldron led off the bottom on the first inning with a single back through the box; he went 1-for-3 in the contest and brought home a run with a fifth-inning, bases loaded walk.
Gwynedd Mercy University continues their stay at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational with a 2:15 p.m. game versus the College of St. Scholastica on Tuesday, March 10.
