Philadelphia, Pa. – (6/3/2025) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior attacks
Josh Devine (Pottstown, Pa.) and
Gunnar Seaman (Worcester, Pa.) were named to the
2025 Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors Association (Philly-SIDA) Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Area Team (.PDF). Devine and Seaman both earned All-Atlantic East Conference (AEC) recognition in 2025 with the former enjoying a second straight First Team (2024, 2025) selection and the latter garnering the second, Second Team (2023, 2025) honor of his collegiate career.
Selected by the sport information directors from 30 institutions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, Devine and Seaman were joined on the 2025 Philly-SIDA Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Area Team by fellow AEC rivals; Immaculata University graduate attack David Azzarano (Wayne, Pa.) and Neumann University junior attack Brendan Boschi (Litchfield, N.H.), as well as Arcadia University senior attack Kyle McLaughlin (Doylestown, Pa.), Chestnut Hill College graduate midfielder Mick Kilagallon (Spring City, Pa.), Eastern University graduate midfielder Nick Litzenberger (Freeville, N.Y.), University of Pennsylvania senior goalkeeper Emmet Carroll (Rye, N.Y.), Villanova University graduate attack Matt Licata (Sandown, N.H.) and graduate faceoff Tyler Sandoval (Garden City, N.Y.), Haverford University senior attack Matt Richards (Middletown, R.I.) and junior attack Reid Tietjen (Mountain Lakes, N.J.), and St. Joseph's University senior defenseman Levi Verch (Victoria, British Columbia). Verch was recognized as the 2025 Philly-SIDA Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.
Verch was named an Inside Lacrosse, United States of America (USA) Lacrosse, and United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American Honorable Mention for a second consecutive year in 2025. The two-time Atlantic 10 (A-10) Defensive Player of the Year (2024, 2025) was an All-A-10 Second Team selection as a sophomore (2023) and a First Team selection in both his Defensive Player of the Year campaigns. This year, he finished second in the A-10 for caused turnovers (2
nd, 29) with his 29 also ranking him 10
th in the Nation. Verch also ranked fifth in the A-10 for ground balls (5
th, 80). He finished his collegiate career at St. Joseph's University seventh all-time in ground balls (7
th, 204) and third all-time in caused turnovers (3
rd, 69).
Academically, Verch was a 2023 and 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District honoree. The sports marketing major is a nominee for the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Allstate Good Works Team for his efforts in the classroom and community; Verch is part of 4Stop Lacrosse, who partners with various youth lacrosse programs in the Philadelphia area.
Devine was named to the All-AEC First Team for a second straight season and led Gwynedd Mercy University in points (51; 32 goals, 19 assists) with the AEC's 11th-best goal total (11
th, 32) and sixth-best assist total (6
th, 19). He also ranked first in the league for shots (1
st, 174) and 11
th in the league for ground balls (11
th, 52), while tying for the team lead in caused turnovers (14). Devine scored four of his 32 goals on the man-up. He logged the game-winner (12-4, 11:26, 3QTR) and a program-record 10 points (6 goals, 4 assists) in a 20-11 victory over AEC rival Neumann University (Apr. 12). Devine earned AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll appearances on March 3, April 14, and April 21.
Academically, is a two-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (F23, F24) and was recognized on the 2023-2024 AEC All-Academic Team.
Seaman took on captain duties and garnered his second straight All-AEC Second Team laurel with 49 points (36 goals, 13 assists), 118 shots, 34 ground balls, and seven caused turnovers. He was named to the AEC Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll on February 24 and earned the AEC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week title on March 25 after recording a program-record nine points (7 goals, 2 assists), 16 shots, three ground balls, and a caused turnover in a 21-3 triumph at Cairn University (Mar. 22). Seaman logged game-winning goals in Griffin wins over Delaware Valley University (W, 12-2 on Mar. 12), Cairn University (W, 21-3 on Mar. 22), and Centenary University (N.J.) (W, 29-4 on Apr. 4), and recorded also scored the 100th goal of his collegiate career in the second quarter of the regular season finale versus Marymount University (8-2, 10:36, 2QTR on Apr. 23).
Academically, Seaman was a CSC At-Large Academic All-District selection in 2024. He is a two-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2022-2023, 2023-2024) and a five-time member of the Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite (F22, S23, F23, S24, F24).
