Gwynedd Valley, Pa. - (4/15/2025) - In true Softball Social fashion, this afternoon's doubleheader versus Eastern University (23-5) offered a little bit of everything as a sunny game-one saw the Eagles score on Gwynedd Mercy University (7-20) early and late in an 11-2 six-inning final. In game two, the Red and Gold nearly matched the Eagles in hits, but were unable to find a run through the wind and rain of a 4-0 conclusion. Between the two contests, junior second baseman

Game One
- The Gwynedd Mercy University third inning started with a beaming of fifth-year center fielder Shylynn Cordero (Allentown, Pa.), a single through the box from Schwartz, and produced when Cohen took a pitch for a double to center field; 5-2.
- Senior pitcher Emily Murphy (Philadelphia, Pa.) tripled in the fourth inning and the Griffins got a runner aboard in the sixth inning on an error by the Eastern University pitcher, but could not either home.
- Schwartz (2-for-3) and Baumeister (2-for-3) recorded two hits apiece.
Game Two
- Baumeister held the Eagles scoreless through the first three innings, but she ended up allowing three earned runs on eight hits and two walks in the loss (6-6). She recorded three strikeouts in the contest.
- The Griffins had a runner in scoring position in the second, third, and fourth innings, and were deflated by line-drive double plays in the fifth and seventh innings.
- Cohen recorded two hits (2-for-3) with a singles in the second and sixth innings.
Gwynedd Mercy University returns to their AEC schedule on Thursday, April 17, when they visit Immaculata University for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
