Gwynedd Valley, Pa. (4/3/2024) - After being shut out in game one, Gwynedd Mercy University (7-14, 2-4) welcomed Cabrini University (12-8, 4-2) to Frank O. Genuardi Legends Field for games two and three in their Atlantic East Conference (AEC) series. With harsh wind gusts and stranding nine runners in scoring positions in game two and three combined, the Red and Gold were swept by the Cavaliers 5-3 in game two and 4-1 in game three. In game two senior pitcher Frank Ebling (Cherry Hill, N.J.) started on the mound with a final stat line of (4.2IP, 7H, 4BB, and 5K's.) in the loss (4-1). In game three, junior pitcher Cooper Root (Runnemede, N.J.) pitched a solid seven innings, only giving up three earned runs on six hits while finishing with a career-high nine strikeouts in the loss (1-4).  

Griffin Highlights: 

Game One: 

• Junior designated hitter Ricky Templeton (West Deptford, N.J.) was 2-of-3 from the plate including singles through the right side of the diamond in the fourth and sixth inning.  
• Down 5-0 going into the seventh the Griffins tried to put on their rally caps but would fall just short. With sophomore outfielder Chris Nodeland (Hamilton, N.J.) on first, freshman infielder Ryan Horner (Cinnaminson, N.J.) on second, and senior outfielder Quin Dye (Conshohocken, Pa.) on third, sophomore outfielder Sam Junker (Ambler, Pa.) hit a triple down the right field line driving in three runs and giving Gwynedd Mercy their only three runs on the game.  

Game Two:  

• The Griffins only registered six hits in the contest with Root and Junker recording two each.  
• The lone run for Gwynedd Mercy came in the bottom of the fifth when Junker grounded into a double play but with no outs allowed Horner to score. (4-1).  
• Senior pitcher, Joe Golden (Churchville, Pa.) pitched in relief for Root with a final stat line of (2IP, and 3K) 

Gwynedd Mercy University hosts Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday, April 9, for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
